LibreOffice India First Meetup - A Big Small Step!

It was a historical meetup of LibreOffice Community in India indeed! It was the first LibreOffice meetup in India. We ideated for starting LibreOffice activities in India during my Red Hat days. Last year, few of us participated in LibreOffice Conference, Aarhus, Denmark. We saw the level of real volunteer participation from all over the world for LibreOffice and no doubt several of us were inspired much. I discussed with Chandrakant and decided that it is already late and we should start as soon as possible on our own level. And this small meetup is the output of what we discussed. We have planned for much more in this year.

A successful meetup - almost twenty people participated in the meetup. We decied to do it on Sunday 17 January and SocialCops came forward to help us by hosting it in its beautiful office situated at Saket area. The most important achievement of the meetup was to get contributors for Garhwali and Angika languages for LibreOffice. It is important to know that both these languages are specified as endangered languages on the UNESCO language atlas. The native Garhwali speaker Kusum Rawat filed the bug at glibc for Garhwali language by adding locale file for the language.

Professor of Indian Institute of Mass Communication Hemant Joshi was excited to see the development in the language front and he said that digital presence of these languages will be able to enpower them. He add that these types of work has far reaching impact. He told that he will help to start the work in kumaoni language.Chandan, of Red Hat, came from Pune to partcipate in the meetup and we started the meetup with his
presentation. He discussed in detail about the LibreOffice Android version and LibreOffice online. Trishul Goel, of Merination, talked about the contribution in the field of technical verticals of LIbreOffice. Chandan showed about how to work on Pootle as well.

Nishant and Neha, volunteers working for FUEL Project, showed the new website design to the audience present. FUEL Project, a project working for creating standard linguistic resources, is supporting LibreOffice in India.

At the end of the meetup, before the open discussion, I talked about the present condition of LibreOffice in India and discussed how we are planning to do year long activities in India. I am excited. We are getting good response as well. Chandrakant has created a meetup group for LibreOffice India. We have Facebook group as well with LibreIndia name.

We were 20 today, hope to be 200 in another six months and 2000 in another two years. And offcourse your support is essential.

W3C India - A Road Ahead

On 22nd of April 2015, I got an opportunity to attend W3C India Community Meet-up held in the CDAC office based in Mumbai. People from all over India and of different domains came Mumbai to participate in the event. Organised by W3C India, the event was of interactive in nature. The whole day event was divided in two parts - the first one was concentrated on 'Digital Publishing in India - Next Steps’. 'Web Payments landscape in India’ was the topic for second session. In the CDAC’s Juhu based beautiful office, the event was very much engaging and interactive.

The country manager of W3C India, Mahesh Kulkarni welcomed the participant and briefly discussed about the whole day agenda. Executive Director, C-DAC, Mumbai, Dr. Zia Saquib gave the opening remark and said that the meet-up is very important for future. Priyanka M. Rawal, Business Development Lead, W3C India, gave introduction about W3C and shared W3C India activities with the audience. The CDAC team discussed about the Digital Publishing Community Group. After a good lunch, Global Business Development Leader, W3C, Alan Bird gave keynote address via Skype and shared broader picture of W3C and said that why it very important to participate and be active with W3C activities. In the after lunch session, the team of National Payments Corporation of India also presented and demonstrated about the work of web payment standardization with respect to India.

The most important aspect of the whole day event was the way it was conducted. The entire meet-up was very open and transparent in nature and participation of audience was awesome. CEO of National Internet Exchange of India (NIXI) Dr Govind was also present. During the open discussion, he also shared his views and said that it is very important for Indian to participate in such activities and we should be proactive so that we should not lag behind from the rest of the world in the field of information and communication technology field. Pavanaja U B of CIS raised some queries about the development of last one year. Lot of participants were from publication domain and they discussed in detail about the challenges of e-publication. Mahesh Kulkarni gave vote of thanks. A great event. Thank you W3C India for inviting me.

Mozilla Angika Meetup @ Bhagalpur, Bihar - A Report

I am overwhelmed with the success of the event and to see the love of the people for Angika and how they are excited to know that Angika is going to be present with one of the languages in which Firefox is present. UNESCO says that Angika is endangered but now I am convinced that Angika cannot be an endangered language. How a language - a real Lok-Bhasha - can be endangered?

Mozilla Angika - A workshop ( pix courtesy - Disha)

The language community is dedicated and no doubt we will be able to come with Mozilla Firefox browser for desktop as well as Android soon with the support of the community. Thank you Anga Pradesh for such a great support!

Organized by Mozilla, the event was supported by several organizations - Disha Gramin Vikas Manch, Sanskriti, Bhasha Ghar and FUEL Project. Several well know persons of Angika language were present - Dr. Amrendra, Mukutdhari Agarwal, Manoj Pandey, Dr. Jayant Jalad, Dr Anand Jha, Dr Vijay Mishra, Dr Sambe, SK Mathur, Ulupi Jha, Dr Satyananda, Manoj Pandit, Abhay Bharti, Bachhu Chaudhari, Brajraj Kumar, Arfeen Parwej, Rakesh Roshan to name a few!

We discussed with the crowd all about what we are going to do and what benefit the language will get when we will release Firefox for desktop as well for Android in Angika. We discussed about the terminology of Angika started under the FUEL Project initiative. The community, however small, is already gathered around to support the cause and to release Firefox in Angika also. Language preservation is one of Mozilla's goal and we are happy to do something concrete in this direction.

The press has generously covered the event. Five newspaper and radio station covered the event. Here are some:

A very special thanks to Mukutdhari jee, Amrendra jee, Manoj Pandey jee, Raj Kumar jee! Thanks a ton to Mozilla for supporting the language.

Show us the sex of the code, colour of the code!

It is always a very surprising fact for me what benefits are there for a FOSS organizations to claim to be a meritocratic. GNOME is a Meritocracy! I understand the 'intention' but what is the benefit of claiming it? So, Apache, Mozilla and Document Foundation also claim along with many others. The list is long. Are you afraid of proprietary world that they will mock at you? Declaring oneself as the 'best' is not a good idea for anybody and specially for free and open source believers. What is best? What is merit? Who is measuring the merit? Show us the code! Okay. I can see some similar nature of project, FOSS based project, both are meritocratic but in one project one region is dominating while in other different region. If the pool of talent is based on meritocratic judgement, then how geography can decide who will lead. Meritocracy is an outdated myth. Also, it is loaded with lot of negative connotations. I am giving examples here just to put some examples, nothing more. I love these projects a lot and I contribute in huge way.

Typical meritocracy can only be generated in a society that has high degree of equality. So if one wants typical meritocracy, s/he should first work to establish equality. But the meritocracy is based on the principle of social inequality, so how equality can be created. This is a great paradox. And so ideally it is impossible to achieve. The existing society based on meritocracy leads to inequality. Meritocracy is based on survival of the fittest. Meritocracy leads towards monopolization. The social distance created by the ideology between the so-called meritorious and so-called non-meritorious of the system is huge and it distracts people from participation and collaboration. So it will be good for free and open source to leave this negative virtue as soon as possible. Therefore, write on the t-shirt - Show us the sex of the code, colour of the code! Unconscious bias and stereotypes are barriers in the path of different sex and colors to coexist simultaneously in coding (or documentation, or translations, or leadership, or webmastering...) domain.

Technically also, free and open Source organization should not be believing on meritocracy. It is the diversity that should drive FOSS because FOSS believes on the choice. FOSS is against monopolization. Forbes says in its Global Diversity and Inclusion report that a diverse and inclusive workforce is critical for success. The report says that the best way to ensure the development of new ideas is through a diverse and inclusive workforce. Not only in present time, people were understanding the importance of diversity and inclusion in medieval age also. There is a questions for the children of 7th standard in History textbook of India - "Why was it important for the Mughals to recruit 'mansabdars' (an official post) from diverse backgrounds and not just Turanis and Iranis?" The diversity and inclusion policy made Mughal successful in creating one of the largest Empire of History that was ruling almost whole Indian sub-continent. The example is not cited in favour of creating a monopolistic 'Empire' but certainly it tells that the importance of diversity and inclusion was even recognized by rulers of the medieval history. Research shows that organizations with stronger diversity benefit in numerous ways - more innovative, more effective, and more profitable.

In most of the areas of life we need optimization instead of maximization or say minimization, where people prefer optimum result rather than the best result. If you pull a guitar string too tight, it will snap. If you let it out too loose, it will make no noise. Only medium tensions allow the guitar to work. Often people tend to see diversity as a killer of meritocracy. This is not true at all. The diversity expands the talent pool. Actually diversity can be used as a tool for attaining some level of meritocracy also. Pāṇini, was a great Sanskrit grammarian from ancient India. He wrote Ashtadhyayi, a highly systematized and technical grammar. It surpassed its predecessor on monumental scale. Noted historian Arthur Llewellyn Basham said, "...Pāṇini's grammar is one of the greatest intellectual achievements of any ancient civilization, and the most detailed and scientific grammar composed before the 19th century in any part of the world." But at the same time, people believed that Sanskrit language declined after Pāṇini, due to the rigorous and complex logic propounded by Pāṇini. The 'merit' can be catastrophic!

2012- CBSE results 2012: Once again, girls outshine boys in class X exams. 2013 - CBSE Class 12 results: girls outshine boys. 2014 - CBSE announces class 12 results, girls top once again. One can check last 10 years results of the secondary examinations in India. But where are these girls? Why they all are not becoming engineers, leaders, scientists etc except a few. Why they are not in top management? Is this due to merit? It is saying in Bengal region of India - For a fortunate farmer wife dies, while for unfortunate farmer cow dies. If we create such a society, how will they come forward. They cannot walk on the street freely, they are afraid of man. The society of man will somewhere stop their move. And so we are unable to find these brilliant girls. And so we are unable to find the different sex in code, different colours in the code. Why coders are predominantly from one particular region? Similarly these are valid for people from different origins, different languages. Just imagine, if we just think about hiring people only from English native background, how can one person of different language having great vision and idea can be hired. This makes our talent pool very small. So this decides the growth and innovation. The diversity and inclusion is a 'formula for success' and so have this slogan on the t-shirt -
Show us the sex of the code, colour of the code!

ऐंड्रायड फ़ोन के लिए इस ब्राउज़र को यहाँ से डाउनलोड किया जा सकता है - ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mobile/releases/31.0/android/mai/.

इसकी वेबसाइट bhashaghar.in है।

We Worship Words

Hello, Good afternoon Everybody!

Honourable Dr. Vijay Bhatkar, Professor Arun Nigavekar , Professor. KP Mohanan, Dr. Raimond Doctor and all of our distinguished guests, welcome.

We are delighted to have you here to participate and share your thoughts in the 2nd FUEL GILT Conference 2014 hosted by Red Hat and C-DAC and supportd by Mozilla. Thank you all for sparing your time and coming here. The fact that many of you have travelled long distances and it indicates how much you all love FUEL Project.

You all know that FUEL Project works to create standardized linguistic resource needed for localization. FUEL Project believes in the wisdom of crowd. We added consensus into it. It creates consistency. 'Many Are Smarter Than the Few' and 'Collective Wisdom has the ability to shape Business, Economies, Societies and Nations'. Crowd wisdom is best suited for problems that involve optimization. And language is such an area. Pure/impure-correct/incorrect often become insignificant.

Recently a great poet Ahsok Vajpeyi was here in the great city of Pune in a program organized in the memory of great Hindustani classical singer Kumar Gandharva. He told one incidence showing the importance of the wisdom of a common people. He has used a word चमकतार in two of his poems. He listened this word during a train journey in the zone of Malwa. The person in the train used that word for the appearance of rain drops when mixing with sun light. After enquiry Mr Vajpeyi found that the word was not even present in the Boli of Malwa, actually just after the mesmerising effect of raindrops, he instantly coined. A new word was created.

We worship words. Tukaram lived most of his life in Dehu, Pune, the पुण्यनगरी. And before I handover the mic to Ani Peter, our awesome compeerer for the event, I want to repeat the words of Sant Tukaram:

This year we have changed the structure of the conference. We are going to have talks as well as Workshops running parallel . So, prepare yourself to be challenged, excited and inspired.

I want to say once more on behalf of FUEL Project, welcome.  It's a pleasure to see so many of you here.

Thank You!
Welcome address by me @ FUEL GILT Conference 2014.

A report on LibreOffice India Community Ideation Meet-Up

16-MAY-2014
03.00 P.M.-05.00 P.M. IST.
Red Hat Office, Tower 10, Magarpatta City, Pune, India.
irc@freenode: libreoffice
hashtag: #libreofficeindia

Background

LibreOffice is one of the flagship products of a movement called 'FOSS'. It is one of the best office application suite which is available free of cost for most of the platforms and in many languages across the world. The application is useful for everyone from a student to a researcher and across various domains. Rajesh Ranjan and Chandrakant Dhutadmal were in a discussion for quite some time about the promotion and proliferation of this beautiful product and were not quite sure about the reach of this product in India. Hence, we had started a thread on marketing list of LibreOffice. After discussions with Charles-H. Schulz and Prof. Kannan from IIT Mumbai, we thought of having an Ideation meet up in India to discuss the current state of penetration of LibreOffice in India and how to increase the reach with the help of the Community.

Agenda of the meetup

1. Get to know each other
2. Introduction about LibreOffice marketing movement in India
3. Raise brand awareness on LibreOffice in India
4. How to attract volunteers to contribute to LibreOffice
5. Plan of Action

1. Get to know each other

Initially we thought the response to this event would be poor as it was planned on a short notice and also with small budget, but there were around 14 people face-to-face and one online who participated in the event. Thanks to Red Hat for hosting this event. We all got to know each other as well as the areas of interest where the participants could contribute. The members were from literally all aspects of LibreOffice community Viz. Development, Localization, Marketing, Testing and Documentation. Hence we can expect good contribution from these members in future. Participants of the events : Rajesh Ranjan, Chandrakant Dhutadmal, Keral Patel Anish Patil, Krishna Babu, Ankit Patel, Shankar Prasad, Shantha Kumar, Saibal, Shubhra Joshi, Sangeeta Kumari, Vishakha Dhutadmal, Ani Peter, and Manoj Giri. We discussed the agenda and background of the event through one small presentation

2. Introduction about LibreOffice marketing movement in India

By the time we met for the discussion, we knew that though LibreOffice is being used by many in India, the penetration level is too low. There are efforts done by individual organizations like C-DAC, Red Hat and IIT Mumbai on individual basis, but there is no collaborative effort in this direction. C-DAC has been involved in training (face-to-face) various Govt. offices and educational institutions on how to use LibreOffice since quite some time now. Prof. Kannan and his team has also put good efforts in terms of creating large number of self-instructional audio video tutorials on LibreOffice, in English (about 60), and with audio dubbed into many Indian languages (a total of about 500), SELF workshops on LibreOffice and to a lesser extent on Linux, Tamil Nadu Govt switching over to BOSS and  some more offices are switching to Fedora and other distributions which is good for LibreOffice. Prof. Kannan’s team is also trying to come up
with print edition of LibreOffice Manuals (500 copies) to promote LibreOffice in colleges, who need a "printed book" for the software to be included in their curriculum.

Having localized version of LibreOffice is important from promotion point of view. Currently, there are as many as 16 Indian languages where Localization teams exist.  Chandrakant Dhutadmal has already requested to create new teams for all those Indian languages that are currently not present.

3. Raise brand awareness on LibreOffice in India

Discussion amongst the members present on how to raise the brand awareness in India took place. Following are the point in nutshell which participants thought would be helpful.

*Introduction of Swags, T-Shirt, Sticker, Badges is very important.
*Conduct demo sessions in various colleges/ schools.
*Conduct LibreOffice development oriented Workshops.
*Using the social media extensively.
*Contacting SMEs/ Start-ups/ System Administrators
*Try to add LibreOffice in school/college curriculum
*Conducting various small events across the country.
*Help community members in participating in International events to interact with other contributors and learn more from them to replicate the model in India.
*Create Success stories and highlight them
*Organizations like C-DAC are already using LibreOffice. Can we target more such large organizations
*All FOSS based OS and related orgs use LibreOffice. We can also target other OS’s popular in market.
*Shipment of Physical CDs is necessary as downloading of softwares becomes difficult in India because of various problems which individuals face
*Support related to installations and other technical aspects needs to be provided to the end users. So, can we create virtual support groups.
*Pre-installation of LibreOffice on Laptops and Computer systems could also boost the penetration of LibreOffice.

4. How to attract volunteers to contribute to LibreOffice

*Start “LibreOffice Ambassador” type of Program
*Workshops/events/BOF/Webinars
*Screen casting of applications use and how to contribute for libreoffice.
*Language specific events can be done for localization. C-DAC is already willing to contribute translation for languages - already mails are there on list.
*Software Testing and Quality Management is important – Projects and Groups like FUEL Project, FLTG, SSCG can help in this regards.
*More Dictionaries can be integrated in LibreOffice.
*India Specific artworks can be created.

5. Plan of Action

This is just to start. We need to discuss more on plan of action. These are just few task we are going to do in another 1-2 months:

*Create success story in an educational institution: Chandrakant Dhutadmal volunteered to conduct one event in educational institute within a period of one month. Currently schools are having vacations.

*Conduct “Bhasha Computer Mela”- Shubhra Joshi and Sangeeta Kumari volunteered to coordinate and arrange the event in a school.

Pix of the events can be browsed here.

Thank you all for attending and supporting the event!

The report is published on mailing list of libreoffice already.

Sharing of Ownership to encourage collaboration in the Community

Mozilla Hindi Community Meet 2014 was a meet-up with a difference in the sense that it brought together the young and the old, the active and the not-so-active, those with experience and skills, and those with great optimism, enthusiasm and know-how. But the chemistry between the two 'generations' and diverse teams was quite magical, and communication near perfect. That is why it was a meet-up that promised little but delivered quite a bit and every participant went back with a sense of enthusiasm, energy and expectation. We did some solid concrete hands-on work and promised to continue the conversation. Mozilla Hindi Community Meet was organized on March 22-23, 2014 in Pune (India). The two-day event was organized by Mozilla. The meet was hosted by Red Hat at its Pune, India office. Different contributors working with different projects of Mozilla from different parts of India working for Hindi language participated in the meet. Ravikant, Vibhas Chandra Verma, Ashish Namdev, Umesh Agarwal, Shahid Farooqui, Guntupalli Karunakar, Meghraj Suthar, Suraj Kawade, Sangeeta Kumari, Chandan Kumar, Rajesh Ranjan, Aniket Deshpande, Himanshu Anand, and Ankit Gadgil participated in the meet.

Agenda of Awesome

The event started on 22 March 2014 in the morning. I, being a co-ordinator of Mozilla Hindi team, welcomed all the participants. I initially gave a brief summary of all Mozilla projects and explained the need and agenda of the meetup. I also discussed about Mozilla products' translation, its various tools, related linguistic resources etc, necessary for the work of localization in Hindi. I discussed why I moved the translation from VCS hg to Pootle and how it hugely helped in the growth contributor base.

Hindi, lingua franca and its structure

A fellow of Center for Study of Developing Societies, a great open source enthusiast and theorist, Ravikant talked in detail about the basics of translation, its importance and its socio-cultural history and importance. He said that generally in India people take translation as a non-creative, boring and second rate work. We must give respect to our translators, and we must enjoy the creativity involved in the act of translation. He added that historically dominant languages have been used to create a gap between peoples. Later he gave elaborate examples to show how and why translation is an important exercise and how the volunteer open source community are engaged in a very major activity in the age of rapid transitions. A senior lecturer in the university of Delhi, Vibhas Chandra Verma, presented a talk on 'Good Hindi'. He quoted from the great saint poet Kabir to say that language is like free-flowing water, which gathers no mud. He replied about a question between the difference of Hindi and Urdu and said that there is almost no difference between Hindi and Urdu in common parlance, except the their different scripts. It is difficult to distinguish between Hindi and Urdu sentences and grammars. He also cited several examples from Sanskrit, Hindi and Urdu to demonstrate the similarity and difference between Sanskrit on the one hand and Hindi and Urdu on the other.

Style is the Soul - Hindi Style Guide Reviewed

One major agenda of the meet was to review Computer Translation Style and Convention Guide for Hindi prepared by the larger Hindi community under FUEL Project. The participants discussed the positives and negatives of the guide in detail. After discussing the broad parameters of a good guide, Ravikant and Vibhas Chandra Verma took the responsibility of editing the document. On the basis of the guidelines decided upon, we will soon have it ready to be finally reviewed by the community. And then we will be ready to put it in the public domain. The style guide is written in English so that any Quality Engineer can also access it and work on the quality assessment of the translation.

And quite flows the Fennec - Feel of Fennec is revitalized

The whole team reviewed the major GUI of Firefox for Andriod in Hindi. Fennec is going to be released in all Indian languages including Hindi. Years before, Firefox browser in Hindi was reviewed at Sarai-CSDS, Delhi in a review workshop organized by Sarai-CSDS. A review meet of this kind is essential before any major release and the Hindi Mozilla review team felt the that the review process for Fennec was satisfactory.

Typing made easy - type क, ख, ग in FirefoxOS

One major progress happened in the area of FirefoxOS Hindi Devanagari Keyboard. There are no Indic keyboard (except for Bengali) for Firefox OS. On the 2nd day of the meet, Karunakar, Secretary of IndLinux Group prepared a Hindi Inscript keyboard for FirefoxOS and added it to GitHub, and this is the pull request for the same. On the basis of Hindi, Aniket added the Marathi Inscript keyboard in no time and it is here. We are thankful to Karunakar and Aniket. Hope this will be of great use for FirefoxOS and create a momemtum for the FirefoxOS keyboards for Indian langauges. Firefox OS KEON is actually very attractive and it was shown around in the meetup. A lot of them had not seen or heard about keon! So, Mozilla Hindi Community requests Mozilla to send keon to its contributors and hopes they will listen to our request.

Share Ownership - Help your language grow

The most important agenda of the meet was to share the ownership and choose one person responsible for each major work area. Initially as a coordinator of Mozilla Hindi Community, myself, proposed the idea of a division of labour and sharing of ownership. I started a thread on the community list and emphasized upon the need of sharing of not just work and contribution but also the sharing of ownership. In the meet it was realized that sharing of ownership gives a sense of responsibility in the new person and it helps enlarge the contributor base, and enhances a sense of collaboration among a bigger network. Karunakar took the responsibility of managing the Hindi keyboard for FirefoxOS. Ravikant and Vibhas happily agreed to mentor the community and help in translating problematic strings whenever in need. And here is the result of division of labour.

Localization Training and SUMO/WebMaker

On the 2nd day, Chandan Kumar worked with all the attendees and gave them all necessary traning to use efficiently all the resources available. He showed by example and worked with all the volunteers to solve their problem and question related to localization. Ankit Gadgil shared about Webmaker and its localization. Ravikant who encountered the webmaker for the first time, felt that the Webmaker was going to change the web as we knew it. Ashish Namdev discussed issues in SUMO translation and Hindi community agreed to translate all the major 100 frequently used articles in SUMO in Hindi language. The SUMO team should be merged with Pootle to facilitate convenience in and consistency of translation. The community also stressed on the need of holding sprints and agreed to use it in future to overcome lags if any. The etherpad contains several information that came after pooling together of little known links of dictionaries in available in the public domain

Aama adami ka browser - aama adami se dur kyon! ( Why is the common people's browser in languages not so popular amongst commoners)

It is sad that though we work hard to create a better product in Hindi but the market and download numbers are not so convincing compared to the vast population of the Hindi speaking people. A brainstorming session was organized on the 2nd day of the meet. Several suggestions came and we, the Mozilla Hindi community decied that we will try our best to work on those suggestions. Ravikant and Vibhas Chandra Verma told that they will also support the cause in their own little ways.

Khaana-Peena

First day we took dinner at Tjs Brew Works, Pune that was very near to the venue of the meet. The Khana-Peena both were awesome including the ambience of the the restaurant. The awesome working lunch, pizza and snacks for both days were arranged by the host of the event - Red Hat. The whole facility team of Red Hat was very much helpful. We are thankful to Red Hat and Mozilla for the great food that ignited out thought. I am thankful to all the active volunteer community who attended the meetup. I am thankful to Mozilla for sponsoring the event and to Red Hat for hosting it. We the whole active community are thankful to Ravikant and Vibhas Chandra Verma who have readily helped the community if and when called upon. Chadan help was very important in training the localizers. Last but not the least, Shahid Farooqi took the responsibility of filing bugs for budget and related affairs, and was key in coordinating the event. Thanks a lot to Shahid for shouldering this additional responsibility. We are Hindi, We are India, We are Mozilla, We are Awesome! Ref Link: Event Page Event Pix Team Wiki Page Etherpad Silde

एलिटेट नेम्टुश्किन की 'मेरी भाषा' कविता से यह पंक्ति उधार ले रहा हूँ - How can I believe the foolish idea /That my language is weak and poor /If my mother's last words /Were in Evenki?
